Bug Fixes in Overseer Version 1.807
The following bug in Overseer Grades 1.805 was fixed in version 1.807
- The marking scheme for the Overall Average Marks of students for each term was shown as user-selectable via the Edit Overall Average Form of Overseer Grades (accessible by right mouse clicking in the header area of a Term Summary Form). This marking scheme should have been fixed as per cent (%) which is the only marking scheme supported upon importing by Overseer LAN or Admin. Version 1.807 of Overseer Grades forces the Overall Average Marks to be in per cent and prevents the user from changing this selection.
Overseer Admin 1.806 and Overseer LAN 1.805 were upgraded to version 1.807 to fix the following bug related to that reported above.
- Upon importing student
marks from a Grades database (via
the Session | Import/Delete Term
Marks menu option) where the Overall
Average Marks for any class were not specified in per cent, the
following error message, or variant thereof, occurred: “Database error: Invalid value for field
‘Term2Avg’…”, and prevented successful importing of the data until the Overall Average Marks for all classes
were re-designated as being in per cent via Overseer Grades.
Version 1.807 of Admin
and LAN automatically converts
the Overall Average Marks to per
cent before importing, so that the import operation does not fail, even
when the marking scheme is designated via Overseer Grades as something other than per cent.
There were no bug fixes in Overseer Reports 1.805. Consequently no version upgrade has been created for this application.
The above upgrades may be applied independently for the three applications (Admin, LAN and Grades) when convenient. However, none of these changes is essential provided users explicitly set the marking scheme for Overall Average Marks for each term to per cent via Overseer Grades. In the event that Overseer Grades is updated to 1.807, be sure to open, then save, each Term Summary file before attempting to import via an Overseer LAN or Admin version earlier than 1.807; otherwise, the conversion to per cent will not be fully implemented in the data file.
